Monster Energy Supercross Media Coverage
Since 2019 Ultimate Motorcycling has been sending me to Monster Energy Supercross rounds including Anaheim 1, San Diego, Anaheim 2 as well as the Championship finale in Salt Lake City.
Sports media photography is an exciting, but hectic, gig. My love for the sport and photography certainly drive my enthusiasm for the experience. In today's sports media business, it's not only about quality imagery but speed of delivery. As soon as the checkered flag is flown to end the race for the riders, the race to submit the photos begins for photographers.
Each race including the Heats or Main Events can yield somewhere around 1,000 photographs. It's my task to quickly select and submit the best ones to the editor in order to get the story up asap!

BOLD Performance Exhaust | Product Release
BOLD Performance hired Will Embree to photograph their newest exhaust product for the Jeep Wrangler and the Ford Bronco Raptor. The project included studio product photography and product application photography. The content was developed to be used for e-commerce, social media and digital marketing purposes.
We set out on an adventure to an off road trail in the high desert just north of San Bernardino, CA. The objective of this adventure was to capture the vehicles in their "natural habitat" as they negotiate through technical terrain.
We couldn't have asked for better weather and picturesque backdrops of snow cap mountains. To our surprise we discovered a water-crossing from recent rains and had a little fun in the mud, maybe a little too much fun!

2024 GasGas Spice It Up Festival: Italy
Ultimate Motorcycling sent Will Embree to participate in the 2024 GasGas Spice It Up Festival where the all-new generation of GasGas motocross, enduro, and cross-country motorcycles were revealed. Over 60 motorcycle journalists and influencers from around the globe arrived in Città di Castello, Italy the same day and convened at the welcome dinner and official launch event.
America’s Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/GasGas Factory Racing Team 450-class rider Justin Barcia and six-time FIM EnduroGP World Champion Andrea Verona for GasGas Factory Racing, surprised the crowd as they stylishly rode into the event aboard the new GasGas off-road models for the official reveal.
It was a quick 4 days of travel, eating and riding. GasGas had journalists on a tight schedule from the moment they landed to the day they left. The next day after arrival, the media test riders got the first opportunity to ride the entire off-road line of GasGas motorcycles. Will Embree was tasked with focusing primarily on the models offered in the US including motocross and cross country.

2024 Swapmoto Live 250 Shootout
Back for the second year in a row, Swapmoto Live hired SMXPICTURES to photograph the 2024 250 shootout event at Fox Raceway.
Here's what goes down at a shootout as said by Swapmoto Live, "It’s time to gather all of the current 2024 250 MX bikes, a handful of test riders, and technicians from every manufacturer. [The test riders are asked] to ride [the bikes] back-to-back to see how they stack up against one another. This year, the only all-new bikes are the Gas Gas MC250F and Yamaha YZ250F; the other four machines return with minimal or no changes at all. While the Gas Gas is all-new for the brand only because the ’23 model did not get the chassis updates that the other two Austrian machines did, the Yamaha boasts an all-new chassis and bodywork, as well as revised suspension settings and some engine upgrades in search of greater durability."

The media convened at Southern California’s world-renowned Fox Raceway for the Suzuki RM-Z Media Ride Day for our first ride aboard the 2024 RM-Z250. You are probably wondering what is new this year for the RM-Z platform, right? Well, (almost) nothing—the RM-Z250 platform remains the same. The Suzuki motocross department seems to be living by my Dad’s motto, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. The Suzuki RM-Z lineup has a long-standing reputation as one of the best-handling motocross bikes on the track, so no change is not necessarily a bad thing.
However, one thing that is new for 2024 is if you purchase a 2024 RM-Z250 or RM-Z450 before October 1, it comes with a dealer-installed Pro Circuit T-6 RM Army Edition exhaust system and RM Army Edition graphics. As you can see, the RM Army Edition is a sharp-looking motorcycle.

2023 Troy Lee Designs / Red Bull / GasGas Factory Team Intro
The 2023 TLD / Red Bull / GasGas Factory team intro was hosted by Troy Lee Designs at their newly revamped headquarters in Corona, CA. Not only did TLD / Red Bull / GasGas announce new team manager, Max Lee (son of Troy Lee) but the new 2023 Justin Barcia Factory Edition GasGas MC450 was on display (pure eye candy).

Just1 Racing reached out to us to film the 2023 JBX-R Boot release video. We went to Perris Raceway and recruited Just1 rider Hudson Zeber to model and ride the new boot.

SuperMotocross Announcement | News Break
2023 marks a new era for Supercross and Motocross racing. The Monster Energy Supercross and Pro Motocross championships have united to create the world’s first SuperMotocross World Championship™. With 17 rounds of Supercross and 11 round Pro Motocross, the SuperMotocross World Championship adds three rounds including two playoff rounds and one final round to crown the ultimate champion.
We were asked by Swap Moto Live to capture the moments at the official announcement press conference located at the L.A. Coliseum. We sat below the towering main entrance columns where the alleged track design will take the riders outside the stadium around the columns and back into the stadium.

2022 RedBull Straight Rhythm
Ultimate Motorcycling sent Will Embree out to Hunting Beach, CA for the 2022 Red Bull Rhythm photo coverage. It was overcast and rainy, but the crowd remained enthusiastic and the riders put on a great show.
Marvin Musquin does it again. It is Musquin’s fourth Red Bull Straight Rhythm title, with previous wins coming in 2014, 2016, and 2017. Runner-up Roczen, the fastest qualifier on a retro-themed Yamaha YZ250, vanquished Deven Raper, Austin Politelli, and Justin Barcia without a loss before dropping two races in a row to Musquin in the Final.

As stated by Swap Moto Live, "Exactly one decade ago, KTM changed the game when it introduced the 2012 450 SX-F Factory Edition. Created and homologated for sale as a limited-edition machine, it gave the Red Bull KTM Team a chance to field a vastly improved and all-new machine for new signee Ryan Dungey. Since then, KTM has continued the Factory Edition tradition, and the Austrian brand created an all-new category of sorts, as Husqvarna followed suit with the Rockstar Edition FC 450, then Honda with the CRF450R Works Edition, Kawasaki with the KX450 SR, and Gas Gas with the MC 450 Troy Lee Edition."

Suzuki invited Ultimate Motorcycling and Associate Editor, Will Embree to test ride the 2023 RM-Z 250 and RM-Z 450 motocross models for a review. Although the models remain unchanged from previous years, we wanted to get the perspective of different rider styles and skills levels to put the Suzuki motorcycles to the test.
In addition to Will as a test rider, we brought out Supercross privateer rider Colby Copp and good friend Nik Gubert of NLab Studio to test the RM-Z models.

2023 Honda HRC Factory Team Intro
Honda HRC Factory Racing invited media to the 2023 Team Intro at the beautiful Blackmore Ranch in Murrieta, CA. Ultimate Motorcycling Associate Editor, Will Embree was sent to capture all the shenanigans at the event. The team riders Hunter Lawrence, Jett Lawrence, Colt Nichols, Chase Sexton and Chance Hymas hopped aboard the CRF125s to spin some laps on the Blackmore Ranch flat track for an organized relay race.
